The Fundraiser was a Great Success!
Well the Fundraiser was a Great Success and a lot of Excitement for the night!
The day started at 3:00 pm with the Osseo Fire Department and their families helping us blow up 100+ balloons! Pink, Black and White – Laurren’s favorite colors!
Organizing all the silent auction items was a task but WOW, we had items being donated all night! We had so many great items for Guy’s & Gal’s and Family Fun!
Special Thanks to the local business of Osseo! Fashionista, R&W Welding, Duffy’s, Fair’s Nursery, Premier Liquor, Furniture Manor, Princeton’s Liquor, The Tire Guy and all the wonderful business that provided a silent action item!
Another special Thanks to our neighbors Marty and Amanda for “Lets Go Camping Silent Action Item” and Annie and Kurt for the great themed wine bottles from the “Rock Star to the Fire Truck delight”!
The Black Jack Dance Band started playing at 7:30 to kick off night! “Fire Fighters just love to Polka!”
Then the Main Event! ELVIS is in THE HOUSE! BIG THANKS to: Everett Howie Atherton – AKA ELVIS who put on a great show! From the light show, to his Amazing Voice and charming the ladies with his vibrant scarfs! Providing one special red scarf for the Lady of the night Laurren, that will be sent to Santa Barbara with LOVE!
Additional Thanks to Elvis’s manager: Charles for the wonderful & heart felt donation, to the Osseo Fire Department for the wonderful & heart felt donation (you will always be apart of our family!), to the Osseo Legion for donating the hall, and US Foodservices for donating the food.
With the Help of Everyone, we were able to raise almost $3,000 for Laurren’s Treatment! We could not have done this alone, from Dena our cute “cover charge girl” to Lynde’s Catering for cooking all the food and all the fire fighters manning the silent auction. WOW my heart pours out with love for all the wonderful friends and family that were there to help and support us with this Fundraiser for my niece Laurren!
HUGE Thanks goes out to Mike Phenow for the wonderful Web Site he design for Laurren, this web site provides us all the opportunity to send her our prayers and thoughts! The more people that see this web site and pray for Laurren, the louder it will be heard by God!
Erin & I feel truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family!
Everyday is a blessing; tell your family and friends you love them!
WE LOVE YOU ALL!

Laurren’s Story
Laurren is a 13-year-old blue-eyed doll with lots of cute freckles and a BIG personality! She loves to sing, dance and play funny jokes on people! She is always smiling and loves to make others smile! Lauren has a fighting spirit like no other!
Laurren was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Osteosarcoma on August 22, 2007. She underwent surgery on November 19, 2007 to remove the tumor and replace it with a prosthetic knee and titanium femur. She had nine grueling months of chemo which should have been completed in April 08, but the chemo caused heart failure in January 08, so she was not able to complete here protocol.
Laurren’s cancer returned to her right lung on June 2nd, 2008 and she underwent another surgery on her lung June 4th, 2008. After surgery she began 2 additional chemo therapy treatments which lasted five months and she was given a weekly research drug for nine additional months. This treatment completed March 2009. New CT scans were taken on April 6th, 2009, which revealed 5 new tumors in both lung. (Heart-broken is the only word suitable.)
The doctors at Children’s Hospital have recently told us that they can no longer help Laurren with conventional treatment. So we have now been faced with the decision for an alternative treatment that is not covered by medical insurance. With God’s plan and His miracles, this treatment will save her life!
The treatment center is in Santa Barbara, California. Lauren started her treatments on Monday, July 27th and will continue the treatments for three weeks. We are hoping to extend her treatments in Santa Barbara with the Fundraiser proceeds.
My name is Sandy Surrette-Lynne and Laurren is my niece. I just lost my sister to cancer 2 months ago and cannot allow the thought of losing my niece too. My husband, Erin Lynne is a Captain on the local Osseo Fire Department.
This fundraiser is for a great cause. We hope to see you there for a night of FUN!
Each day of our lives is a blessing and giving back is priceless!
